Drift Creek Nature Camp Program April 29-May 1 2016
Friday, April 29 Check-in after 4:00 Dinner at 5:30 for those that registered for the meal Saturday, April 30 8:30 Program Check-in 9:00-11:00 Session 1 (select one of the following sessions led by local experts) A. Guided Nature Hike – A chance to observe and learn about the organisms (plant and animal) on a hike. B. Nature Photography – Learn basic photography skills and then use them outside in natural areas around the camp. C. Stream Ecology – Connect to Drift Creek by learning about the ecology, fish and other living organisms that live there. D. Geocaching – Learn how to geocache with GPS units and then search for caches hidden around the camp. 12:00 Lunch 1:00-3:00 Session 2 (select one of the following sessions led by local experts) A. Guided Nature Hike – A chance to observe and learn about the organisms (plant and animal) on a hike. B. Nature Journaling – Learn the writing skills necessary to nature journal and then use them outside in natural areas around the camp. C. Stream Ecology – Connect to Drift Creek by learning about the ecology, fish and other living organisms that live there. D. Geocaching – Learn how to geocache with GPS units and then search for caches hidden around the camp. E. Mountain Biking – An opportunity to ride bikes off the main road. 5:30 Dinner 7:00 Nature sharing Sunday, May 1 9:00 Meditation 10:00 Brunch 11:00 Checkout Optional – hike Drift Creek Falls on the way home. trail information including Grant’s Getaways video clip
