2010 Summer Staff Information

We are glad that you are interested in using the gifts and skills that God has given to you to be a part of DCC’s summer camp program.  It is exciting that there are young people who are searching for more than what a normal summer job can provide.  If during your time of praying, listening and studying you sense God is leading you to DCC this summer, please fill out the application and send it in.  Once we have your application we will contact your references, contact you for a telephone interview, and pray through the process to determine if you belong on the DCC team this summer.

We have two basic goals for the staff and campers in our summer camp program.  These are to:

  • Develop our relationship with Christ through fellowship, worship, prayer and Bible study
  • Discover God’s goodness through Christ-centered community, exploration of His creation, fun activities, good food, and friendships

We have a great time with our campers in a pristine coastal rainforest setting.  Some of Drift Creek Camp’s (DCC) specialties are polar bearing in the creek, old growth forest hikes, tubing around “The Loop”, morning chapel in the amphitheatre under towering hemlock and fir trees, and great group games like capture the flag.  Our camps tend to be small to medium in size (40 to 90 campers per week), and we cherish the many great friendships that are formed among our campers, staff and volunteers.  Summer staff positions include:

Priority will be given to persons who are able to serve the entire summer. If you would like to extend your work experience, DCC has partnered with our sister Mennonite Camp in Leavenworth, Washington. An additional two weeks of counseling is available through Camp Camrec and transportation is provided.  We will forward your application to Camrec if you indicate that you're able to extend your service.  For more information, please visit their website.

Surf Camp
Surf camp happens after our last week of “regular”
camp and is not considered to be part of full summer
employment.  We will only need a small number of
counselors for this camp.  If you are interested in
staying on for surf camp please indicate that.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate
everyone who wants to do surf camp.  Priority will be
given to senior staff and those with lifeguard certification
and previous surfing experience.
